Royal Challengers Bangalore v Mumbai Indians
28/9/20, 3pm (BST), Dubai
WINNER
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE – 11/10
V
MUMBAI INDIANS – 8/11
Match Preview
RCB will be reeling after a 97-run thumping to Kings XI, with holes appearing all over their team. The fielding was poor, Dale Steyn is struggling big time with the ball, and aside from AB de Villiers, the batsmen all look well off the pace and without a settled order.
Virat Kohli has a point to prove after dropping two catches and managing just a single on Thursday, but he will be up against a wily Mumbai attack and in particular Trent Boult having shown signs of struggling against the left-arm pace of Sheldon Cottrell.
Mumbai’s win over KKR saw them put down a marker for the rest of the tournament. Rohit Sharma found form while they have good options down the order which make them a formidable opponent and rightly favourites for this tie.
Our Prediction
Virat Kohli to score a fifty – 7/4
Despite a poor start to the tournaments by his high standards, we are backing Kohli to come good before long.
The India captain will be fired up by his quiet start and will be determined not to be overshadowed by his international colleagues – so Mumbai Indians beware.
Jasprit Bumrah could be the man to threaten that return to form and is 1/1 to take more than 1.5 wickets in the match, while Krunal Pandya is 5/6 to take fewer than 0.5 – which could be a tempter if Kieron Pollard is again preferred with the ball.
