Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kolkata Knight Riders
12/10/20, 3pm (BST), Sharjah
Two times on the up, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders overcame tricky conditions to pick up tight wins over the weekend and establish their positions in the top four.
Average scores have been dropping as the tournament has gone on and it remains to be seen if that trend will be continued at the smaller ground in Sharjah, but this game offers an opportunity for one side to put a gap between themselves and the rest.
KKR have concerns over the fitness of Andre Russell while Sunil Narine has fresh queries over the legality of his bowling action, leading to RCB being places as favourites at 4/5 while KKR are 1/1 to win.
Virat Kohli top-scorer for RCB – 2/1
After a meagre start to the competition, scores of 72*, 43 and a match-winning 90* against CSK – that was a masterclass in T20 batting – Kohli has found top form and is the leading run-scorer in the IPL that is not an opening batsman.
RCB lean heavily on him to score their runs and he should enjoy Sharjah and the KKR attack, but the slowing nature of the wickets makes under 21.5 match sixes at 10/11 a very attractive bet.
Shubman Gill to outscore the out-of-form Aaron Finch at 1/1 is also good value.
