Chennai Super Kings v Kolkata Knight Riders
29/10/20, 2pm (GMT), Dubai
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS – 11/10
KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS – 8/11
After losing to Kings XI Punjab on Monday, this game is a must-win for Kolkata Knight Riders if they are avoid throwing away their place in the top four.
A win would move them into the top three, but their fate is out of their hands after that most recent loss, while playing against a Chennai Super Kings side with nothing to lose could be a dangerous proposition..
The good news is that Shubman Gill and Eoin Morgan found form last time out, but the bad news is that the rest of their top order is woefully out of form and too often leaving too much to be done later in the innings.
CSK are the only team already out of the IPL but recorded an impressive win against RCB in their last outing and will be hoping to finish on a high with two games to play.
Faf du Plessis over 0.5 sixes – 1/1
After starting the tournament on fire, du Plessis’ form has dropped away but there were signs in the RCB game, also at Dubai, that he was keen to adopt an aggressive approach alongside the inexperienced Ruturaj Gaikwad.
His 13-ball 25 included two maximums and his ability to sit back and pull powerfully will be useful against the pace of Pat Cummins.
Shubman Gill showed an impressive array of hitting at Sharjah and is 11/10 to hit 0.5 sixes, as well as 11/4 to be his team’s highest scorer.
