Royal Challengers Bangalore v Rajasthan Royals
3/10/20, 11am (BST), Abu Dhabi
WINNER
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE – 4/5
V
RAJASTHAN ROYALS – Evens
Match Preview
A win for either of these teams in this match would take them to the top of the IPL table ahead of a meeting between the current top two (Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders) in the afternoon. Both sides have two wins from three going into this meeting following RCB’s thrilling Super Over win over the Mumbai Indians and the Royals’ heavy defeat to the Knight Riders.
These sides met just once last year after their second meeting was abandoned. The Royals won that meeting but both sides will be determined to reach the play-offs in 2020 after finishing in the bottom two 12 months. It has been a positive start for both and a win here for either side would be a big step in the right direction.
Our Prediction
Rajasthan Royals to win @ Evens
The bookmakers make RCB narrow favourites for this match at a best price 4/5 and although they arguably go into this game in better form, I would rather back the Royals at even money. With Buttler, Smith, Tewatia and Samson at the top of the order, I feel they have more firepower than an RCB side relying heavily on an out of form Virat Kohli, an inconsistent Aaron Finch and an ageing AB de Villiers.
In terms of match-winners, the Royals have more options at their disposal and that’s why I’m backing them to win this match.
