Rajasthan Royals v Kolkata Knight Riders
30/9/20, 3pm (BST), Dubai
RAJASTHAN ROYALS – Evens
KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS – 4/5
Both the Royals and the Knight Riders come into this game in good form having both won their fixtures last time out. The Knight Riders’ 10-run win over Sunrisers was comfortable and far less dramatic than the Royals’ unbelievable chase of 223 against Kings XI on Sunday afternoon.
The sides shared a win apiece in last year’s competition, with the Royals winning by three wickets at Eden Gardens later in the competition after the Knight Riders had won the reverse fixture by eight wickets. The bookmakers make the Knight Riders narrow favourites for this clash, with odds of 4/5 available on an away win while the Royals are priced at evens.
As should be expected from one of the world’s best batsman, Steve Smith has been the model of consistency across the opening week or so of the IPL season, following up his 69 in the opening game with 50 in the win over the Kings XI. Right now Sanju Samson has top scored in both Royals games but I feel the consistency of Smith makes him a solid option at 3/1 to continue his good form with another big score in game three.
