Perth Scorchers v Sydney Thunder
Match Odds
PERTH SCORCHERS – 7/10
v
SYDNEY THUNDER – 19/20
9/1/21, 08:15am (GMT), Perth
Match Preview
Despite a miserable start to the tournament, the Scorchers are firing on all cylinders now and look capable of beating anyone with their intimidating batting line-up.
Liam Livingstone is yet to hit peak form but that has been offset by Mitch Marsh, Josh Inglis and Colin Munro adding real impetus in the middle order and making them capable of outscoring almost anyone.
The Thunder will provide stiff competition however in a game that is sure to produce fireworks, with arguably two of the strongest teams going head-to-head.
The spin of Tanveer Sangha has been the surprise package of the tournament and they will be relying on him to half the Scorcher’s momentum.
Our Tips
Tanveer Sangha to take more than 1.5 wickets – 7/5 @ Betway
The teenage spinner has had a breakthrough campaign and has caused a lot of excitement in Australian cricket with 15 wickets in eight games to date. He has taken more than one wicket in four of his last five matches.
Alex Hales to hit a fifty – 12/5
Hales has enjoyed another good season so far for the Thunder, and you get a feeling there is more to come. He is coming off the back of scores of 35, 71, 45, 46 and 21 but registered 0 in his last meeting with the Scorchers. Their attack isn’t the strongest so we expect him to put that right.
