Match Odds
PERTH SCORCHERS – 8/11
v
HOBART HURRICANES – 23/20
12/1/21, 08:15am (GMT), Perth
Match Preview
The Scorchers are quickly rising up the league having picked up their fourth win on the bounce against Sydney Thunder, seeing them into fifth in the ladder with just under half of their games remaining.
Key to their form has been the strength of the middle order, but home advantage and Jhye Richardson racing to the top of the wicket-taking charts have made them an all-round package capable of beating any side on home soil.
The Hurricanes on the other hand have fallen away after a promising start and are soon to lose Colin Ingram, but they need Dawid Malan to live up to his billing as the world’s premier T20 batsman if their form is to pick up, while James Faulkner’s injury has hit them hard.
Our Tips
Perth Scorchers to score under 41.5 runs in the first six overs – 17/10 @ Betway
This could be a risk, based on the explosive power of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone at the top of the order, but the pair have struggled to fire at the same time and often gone at lower than a run a ball, instead waiting for the Power Surge to pick up most of their runs.
Ben McDermott to outscore D’Arcy Short/Colin Munro – 7/4 @ Bet365
McDermott has enjoyed his promotion to the top of the order, with scores of 89* and 91 in his seven games. Short meanwhile has struggled for form, but Munro remains a danger.
