New Zealand v West Indies, 2nd Test
10/12/20, 10pm (GMT), Wellington
WINNER
NEW ZEALAND – 3/10
DRAW – 11/2
WEST INDIES – 13/2
Match Preview
The big news for New Zealand is that fresh from racking up a double century that saw them crush the West Indies in the first Test, Kane Williamson is expected to be available after being due to miss out to attend the birth of his first child.
If not, Tom Latham will lead the side with Tom Blundell and Will Young making up the rest of the top three but BJ Watling’s return also adds extra depth to the line-up which hammered the tourists by an innings and 134 runs.
The Windies on the other hand subsided miserably and could consider changes to their top order after captain Jason Holder pointed the finger at them, but it looks as though it could be another long five days for the visiting team.
Our Prediction
Ross Taylor to score a fifty – 1/1
Taylor made 38 in the first Test and sat in Williamson’s shadow for much of their partnership but liked batting at Wellington, averaging over 60 at the ground in 14 matches with a highest score of 200.
With the pitch expected to be flat and favour the batsmen again, he will be licking his lips at getting stuck in against a demoralised West Indies attack.
