The first Melbourne derby of the season proved to be an easy win for the Stars to make it two wins on the bounce for Glenn Maxwell’s side and revive their chances of making the final four.

They have not been at their best this campaign, but another game against the side with the worst record gives them a chance to go second in the table and make it three from three.

Marcus Stoinis continues to frustrate, following up a 26-ball 13 with a 32-ball 43 but with him, Andre Fletcher and Nick Larkin all in the runs recently they will be relaxed over their form.

The Renegades continue to chop and change their line-up, with Finch returning to open last time but being dismissed for a duck by his close friend Maxwell, and unless he can break free of the shackles they are likely to keep on struggling.

Fletcher and Stoinis haven’t fired together in the competition so far, but both players are capable of explosive knocks and will be full of confidence going up against the Renegades. If given the opportunity to set a target, expect them to assert their authority early on.

Stoinis has the ability to go big and really make the opposition pay if he gets his eye in. He made a promising 43 last time against the Renegades but his recent form shows he is capable of going much bigger, while the other two appear to be slightly out of sorts.
