Kolkata Knight Riders v Delhi Capitals
24/10/20, 11am (BST), Abu Dhabi
WINNER
KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS – 6/5
V
DELHI CAPITALS – 4/6
Match Preview
The Kolkata Knight Riders players will have been read the riot act after a woeful display that saw them thrashed by Royal Challengers Bangalore, in a defeat which saw the chasing pack move that bit closer to the side currently in fourth place.
The loss of Andre Russell appeared to spook them and their top order failed to cope with the pace of the RCB attack, so Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje should have a field day and pile on more misery.
Delhi Capitals have been the best team in the tournament this year and have every base covered – led by Shikhar Dhawan’s back-to-back centuries – and one more win should secure a top three spot despite Tuesday’s loss to Kings XI Punjab.
Unsurprisingly, the Capitals are 4/6 favourites to claim a second win of the season over KKR, with Eoin Morgan’s side 6/5 outsiders.
Our Prediction
Shikhar Dhawan to score a fifty – 12/5
First it was back-to-back half-centuries – the first of which came at Abu Dhabi – then it was consecutive centuries, becoming the first man in IPL history to do so.
Dhawan is on a run of form never seen before and has been unbeaten in three of his last four innings, with scores of 69*, 57, 101* and 106* so this bet looks like a no-brainer.
Prithvi Shaw is a man out of form but he made a fluent 66 against KKR last time, so odds of 1/1 to make over 23.5 could be worth a look.
