IPL 2020 play-offs confirmed
Sunrisers Hyderabad hammered Mumbai Indians on Tuesday to finalise the four finalists in the 2020 IPL after six weeks of cricket in the UAE.
David Warner’s side faced a must-win game in order to secure the fourth and final play-off spot, and the margin of their victory and net run-rate meant they jumped to third in the table, behind Delhi Capitals and Mumbai, but ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The reigning champions Mumbai had already qualified in first place for the final four, and opted to rest several key players for the final game, allowing Sunrisers to bump Kolkata Knight Riders out of the top four and set up a clash with RCB in the Eliminator at Abu Dhabi.
