Chennai Super Kings v Delhi Capitals
25/9/20, 3pm (BST), Dubai
WINNER
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS – 4/5
V
DELHI CAPITALS – 1/1
Match Preview
Another year on for an aging side, but Chennai Super Kings are again defying all expectations despite losing their second game against Rajasthan Royals.
The shorter boundaries in Sharjah cost their bowlers dear but their batsmen are in fine form and almost completed the highest-ever run chase, with Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Sam Curran and Shane Watson all looking in good form.
Delhi Capitals scraped through against Kings XI Punjab in their opener but they will be looking for their top order to fire after relying on Marcus Stoinis to bail them out – they might not find playing conditions in Dubai to their liking.
Our Prediction
Faf du Plessis to score over 21.5 runs – 4/6
Du Plessis has been the form player of the IPL to date with scores of 58* and 72 – both at a good rate – and with his ability to play spin and run hard between the wickets, we are backing him to continue those good performances in Dubai.
With the ball, expect Curran to keep picking up wickets and be the leading bowler for CSK at 4/1, while his quickfire knocks with the bat make him a good bet to be the quickest player to 10 runs.
With Ravi Ashwin likely to miss out through injury, Axar Patel will have a key role to play with the ball and is sure to see return on over 0.5 wickets at 1/2.
