Australia v India, 2nd ODI
29/11/20, 03:40am (GMT), Sydney
WINNER
AUSTRALIA – 1/2
v
INDIA – 13/8
Match Preview
There were over 680 runs scored in the first game between these two power nations of the Australian summer, with some stunning batting on show between both sides.
Aaron Finch and David Warner looked imperious against the Indian pace attack before Steve Smith produced a scintillating century and Glenn Maxwell rediscovered his best touch after a difficult IPL.
If the Australians look well-placed – despite their shaky bowling – there are concerns over India, who struggled to cope with the pace and bounce in Sydney.
Although Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya batted brilliantly, Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were all unsettled at points by the steep bounce and that is something that is sure to be exploited throughout the tour.
There will be changes due to the quick turnaround between games, while India may need to look a re-balancing their side.
Our Prediction
David Warner to score a fifty – 11/8
The same tip as the previous game – when Warner delivered – but such is the form the opener is in and his dominance at home that this seems a sure thing.
He was more fluent than his partner Finch during their opening stand and he could even go bigger and reach three figures, his game is in such a good place.
Virat Kohli also looked in good touch despite being dropped early on, so 5/4 for him to add fifty too may be a good bet.
