Australia v India, 1st ODI
27/11/20, 03:40am (GMT), Sydney
This game will see two teams fresh from the IPL face off the kick off what looks to be an exciting three-format tour Down Under.
What will be hard to predict is the first few games, with the majority of players only just leaving the mandatory two-week quarantine upon entering Australia and as a result, short on practice.
Australia beat world champions England in their last 50-over series but a new four-year cycle could mean opportunities for the likes of Sean Abbott and Cam Green – who will already been acclimatised having made impressive starts to the domestic season.
India will feature a number of players who starred in the IPL, with KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Sanju Samson looking to nail regular spots while Navdeep Saini’s pace could be something to watch out for.
Expect a closely-fought series with India looking to lay down a marker ahead of the rest of the tour.
We know Warner likes to face the Indian bowlers after years of success, but we also know he loves to bat in Australia and on his home patch in Sydney.
The opening batsman finished the IPL on top of his game and averages 45 on home soil and 49 against India, so he will be out to get on top of the opposition as soon as possible and make a statement ahead of the rest of the summer.
Australia to win 2-1 – 6/4
With home advantage and the complications surrounding quarantining, Australia should have enough to carry on their impressive form from England, but with the number of match-winners India have in their squad you can always count of them winning at least one game.
