All Rounder C A player skilled in both batting and bowling, and who regularly does both in matches.

Arm Ball C A type of ball bowled by an off spin bowler. The ball has little or no spin on it.

Attacking C A bowling tactic designed to take wickets.
Ball C 5 ? ounce red ball used for professional cricket tournaments.

Back Foot Shot C A shot played by the batsman with his weight mostly on his back foot.

Bat C A wooden club made of willow with a cane handle. It is used to hit the ball.

Batsman C A player currently batting on the field.

Beamer C A ball that does not bounce on the pitch. The ball passes the batsman at head height.

Bouncer - A short pitched ball that bounces up towards the height of the batsman's head.

Bowl C To hurl a cricket ball towards the batsman.
Bump Ball - A ball which is played off the bat almost instantly into the ground and is caught by a fielder.

Bye C A run scored when the batsman does not touch the ball with his body or bat.

Chest On C A bowler who delivers the ball with his chest facing the batsman.

Closing the Face C Turning the face of the bat inwards and hitting the ball to the leg side.

Corridor of Uncertainty - An area just outside the batsman's off stump where he is unsure whether he has to leave or play the ball.

Dead Ball C A ball where no runs can be scored.

Dolly C An easy catch.

Duck C A score of zero.

Full Toss C A ball that reaches the batsman without bouncing
Half Volley C To hit the ball as it rises immediately after bouncing.

Inside Out Shot C Hitting the ball pitched on or outside leg stump to the off side of the field.

Leading Edge - The edge of a cricket bat closest to the bowler's end of the pitch.

Leg-Side C The area of the pitch behind the batsmans legs.
Lollipop C An easy ball to hit.
No Ball - An extra run credited to the batting side when a bowler bowls a no ball.

Off the Mark C When the batsman scores his first run.
Over C A series of six balls bowled by a single bowler in sequence.

Paddle C A sweep shot.

Pair C When a batsman gets a duck in both innings.

Retire C To end ones innings.

Score C How many runs a side has scored and how many wickets it has lost in an inning.

Series C A group of matches between two sides.

Shot - A batsman attempting to hit the ball with his bat.

Side C A team of eleven cricket players.

Single C One run scored off a single ball.

Skipper C The captain of a cricket side.

Slow Ball C A ball bowled by a bowler that is slower than his usual delivery.

Take a Wicket C To get a batsman out.

Target - The number of runs the side batting last needs to score in the final innings of a match to win.

Track C The pitch
Walk C To walk off the field after being ruled out by an umpire.
Wicket C The pitch.

Zooter C A ball that has little or no spin on it.
